THE parent company of York Dungeon has reported a rise in turnover, profit and visitor numbers.
Posting its first annual results since floating on the Stock Exchange, Merlin Entertainments generated revenues of £1.2 billion for the year ending December 28, 2013, an 11 per cent rise from the previous year.
Also rising by 11 per cent from 2012 was visitor numbers, which grew to 59.8 million, while pre-tax profits soared 33 per cent to £186 million.
As well as running York Dungeon, Merlin Entertainments is behind a number of high profile attractions including Alton Towers, Madame Tussauds and Legoland.
