The Park Inn by Radisson York hotel has been picked up a prestigious eco-award for helping the planet.
The business has been given a silver rating by the Green Tourism Business Scheme, the UK’s leading sustainable tourism award body.
General manager Sally Hughes said: “We are delighted to win this award. This is fantastic recognition for the hard work our team puts in to being a responsible and green business.”
The hotel has a target to cut energy consumption by 25 per cent by 2016 through measures such as low energy lighting, adapting showers to use less water, recycling, and serving organic and fair trade tea and coffee.
