Latest business appointments in York

SAVILLS York has appointed Tom Whitehead as associate director in its rural team just weeks after appointing Richard Morley as an associate. The international property firm, which has offices in York and Leeds, has recruited 11 new Yorkshire professionals so far this year. Mr Whitehead will specialise in rural agency, valuations and rural professional work and will be based at Savills Micklegate office.

• PROPERTY maintenance specialist Novus Property Solutions has appointed Paul Kester as a business development manager in the Yorkshire and North East region. Splitting his time between Novus’ York office, in Kettlestring Lane, Clifton Moor and Novus’s Gateshead office, Mr Kester has worked in a business development role for the past 12 years for a plumbing and heating contractor in the Yorkshire area.

• LANGLEYS Solicitors has added to its corporate commercial team with the appointment of Nathan Bilton, a sports enthusiast who joins the York based firm following a period in New Zealand. In his new role at Langleys, Mr Bilton advises PLCs, private companies, partnerships, entrepreneurs, sporting organisations and charities on commercial agreements, corporate transactions and intellectual property.

• ALDWARK Manor Hotel, one of 21 in the QHotels chain, has announced the appointment of Paul Beswick as general manager. Mr Beswick has worked his way up the ranks at QHotels from an operations manager position and has worked in the hospitality industry for more than 20 years.

• ELVINGTON-based turf grower Rolawn has created two new roles within its sales team. Emily Kirkland has been promoted to Sales & Marketing support manager and new recruit Suzie Garner recently joined to take up the post of Customer Services team supervisor. Jonathan Hill, Rolawn Sales & Marketing director, said: “Emily’s promotion will mean more of our customers benefiting from her professionalism, efficiency and experience. And we are delighted that Suzie has joined us, as she brings a wealth of customer services experience.”

• INSULATION and renewable technology installation firm Solarwall has appointed Chris Delaney as business development manager. Mr Delaney joins Solarwall, based at Green Lane Trading Estate, with a background in sales, specialising in social housing TWO new associates have been appointed at North Yorkshire accountants and business advisers, JWPCreers. Michael Free, who joined Creers in York as a teenager after leaving Archbishop Holgate School, worked his way up to senior manager specialising in advising audit exempt limited companies. Also promoted to associate is senior manager, Andrew Northern, who joined the firm in 2001 as a trainee accountant and now specialises in landed estates and agriculture.

• ACCOUNTANCY firm Townends has welcomed its latest intake of staff working towards professional qualifications. The practice, which has offices in Fulford, Selby, Pontefract and Goole, has taken on Jack Scanlon, Jade Hill, Lesley Strangward, Charlotte Hall and Mark Knowlson, Danielle Pindard, Nicola Chapman, Ewelina Mielcarek and Hayley Hudson. Lesley Strangward, human resources manager at Townends, said: “We have strong links to local schools and colleges and our structured training programme provides support to our staff to develop professionally while studying towards qualifications.”
