A COMPANY from York has been appointed by the Ministry of Defence to manage its cyber security, in a deal worth £16million per year.
The role of managing the new Microsoft Enterprise Agreement has been awarded to Software Box Limited (SBL), for three years.
It will bring the company an estimated £45 to £50million.
The deal replaces the previous £25million contract they had with Microsoft for the same role.
A spokesman for the company said: “SBL is delighted to have been selected for the role of managing the new Microsoft Enterprise Agreement for the MoD.
‘‘It is now more important than ever that the MoD have tight and stringent control of their IT assets and that they are able to realise the full potential of the IT investments that they make.
“‘We are proud to have been able to utilise our vast and comprehensive experience in working with the MoD, and our knowledge of the Microsoft portfolio to present a service optimised to the needs of this complex environment and the requirements expressed by the customer.”
