SCARBOROUGH manufacturer Unison has launched a new phase in its history with a week of exhibitions and visits at its new premises.
The company, which designs and manufactures electric tube-bending machines for the automotive and aerospace industries, has more than doubled its capacity with the move and has increased staff by 25 per cent to about 50.
Lord Green, minister of state for trade and investment, officially unveiled a plaque at a dinner held at the new factory.
Unison, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, now has more than 2,200 sq metres of manufacturing space at its new site on Thornburgh Road, Scarborough, in which it has invested £300,000 in new machinery.
Managing director Alan Pickering said the new premises would enable them to accelerate building times by about 15 per cent.
