EAST Yorkshire company Phoenix Software has reported its fifth consecutive year of double-digit growth.

The firm, which implements and manages software systems for organisations, is expecting to grow at an even faster rate during 2013.

The company, based in York Road, Pocklington, grew sales by 13.6 per cent to £84 million in the year ending October 31. The privately-owned business also increased operating profits by 28 per cent to £5 million.

The business grew staff from 117 to 123 last year and is continuing to recruit in 2013 to help grow the company further, it said.

John Forsyth, managing director of Phoenix Software Ltd, said: “While this outcome in itself represents a very strong performance, it is worth noting that, thanks to our customers, this is the fifth consecutive year Phoenix has delivered double-digit growth.

“We are delighted with the strong demand for our software asset management and IT services offerings and the growing international channel for our own software product, License Dashboard. Our new business pipeline for 2013 looks potentially as exciting, if not more so, than that which we achieved in 2012.

“Our business plan for the next 12 months is ambitious, but we believe that the combination of strong customer demand across all our traditional sectors, combined with our track record and experience will allow Phoenix to continue delivering sustainable growth.”

Phoenix Software enjoyed strong trading particularly in the public sector.

Last month it became a preferred supplier to the Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium, which gives it the opportunity to provide software licence reseller services to more than 100 higher and further education institutions and is potentially worth £60 million per year in sales.

The business was also ranked 14th in the Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200, a league table of Britain’s private companies with the fastest-growing international sales in 2012 after it grew overseas sales by 160 per cent a year over two years.
