A LOCAL tea company has secured deals with five-star stockists Harrods and the Cedar Court Grand Hotel & Spa in York.

Lulin Teas has launched an exclusive range of nine products in the world’s most prestigious department store, Harrods, and its teas are now being served for afternoon tea at the Cedar Court Grand.

The company, which was launched last year by Hans Verhoosel nd Amy Gallagher, who used to run La Place Verte café in York before the opportunity to get deeper into the tea business arose, was also a winner in The Press’s Local Business Accelerators competition last year.

Hans said: “I am delighted to be working with Harrods. They are the epitome of style, quality and luxury. Having only launched the LuLin brand in September 2011, it is a big step for a young brand to be recognised by such a prestigious institution.

“The Grand is such a wonderfully opulent hotel and it is great that they choose to work with local suppliers like ourselves.”
