A FAMILY butchers is definitely upper crust when it comes to making pork pies.
The Bell family is celebrating after their pork pies won a silver award and a commendation in the annual Great Yorkshire Pork Pie and Sausage Competition.
Butchers from across the region served up their best fare for the prestigious event, which this year was held in Bradford.
Ged Bell Family Butchers, of Middlethorpe Grove, Dringhouses, York, took second place in the large pork pie category and were highly commended in the small pork pie category.
Lee Bell said: “There are a lot of local competitions that are really good fun, but to be recognised in this company is a massive achievement and we are absolutely delighted.”
The butchers are now gearing up for the Christmas rush.

Neary's pies form Clifton Green....take it from me they are the best! don't need to enter any competitions to prove it. Just go and try one and you will soon see. ;-)
