THE Cliffemount Hotel near Whitby hopes to be considered for Small Business Of The Year in The Press Business Awards 2012.
The 20-bedroom independent boutique hotel, perched on top of majestic cliffs over Runswick Bay, was bought by Ian and Carol Rae in 2005 and refurbished with luxury in mind, providing fluffy bathrobes and private balconies, some with telescopes, and it even has a helicopter landing pad in the garden.
Ian said: “We only employ staff who we are certain will have a friendly and professional attitude, which is essential for the high levels of service we offer our guests. In training our staff we always aim to exceed the quality standards set out in the AA Guide.”
