ALEXANDRA Atkinson describes herself as "just loving business" and is now hoping for two award wins with her two businesses.

Formerly a keen sports woman having gained England Hockey Trials at the age of 15, Mrs Atkinson developed a type of epilepsy which halted her progression within sport and previous life goals. Instead she moved her focus into business – and hasn’t looked back since.

The now 27-year old was part of the multi-award winning dynamic duo at Now and Then Events, until very recently when the two split the businesses, including their corporate events business Elzo Events, to focus on different ideas and passions.

Mrs Atkinson now runs two event businesses Britain Does Vintage and Made Locally With Love, as well as working within the family business which sells short term holidays in North Norfolk, and is working on two more business which will be launched in autumn 2015 and mid 2016.

She says she enjoys the variety of working on different businesses within different industries and meeting different people. It is these people who inspire her to think creatively and motivate her to act on business ideas rather than letting them fade away, and enabling her to be in a position to enter the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award and the Tourism and Hospitality Business of the Year award.

Currently Mrs Atkinson's most profitable enterprise is Britain Does Vintage where she has 19 planned vintage events between September and December.

Each event collectively brings together around 30 individual authentic vintage businesses alongside other features such as live music and a vintage tearoom.

The future plan for Britain Does Vintage is to focus more on larger festivals as through extensive research Mrs Atkinson has noticed a shift in customer trends towards fairs to festivals. She believes that by spending more time on larger events the business will go from strength to strength and will help her secure the title of Britain’s Top Vintage Festival Business, which people from around the world will visit.

Come summer 2016 Mrs Atkinson hopes to have employed someone to manage Britain Does Vintage, and a supporting team behind them, so she can focus her own time into her new businesses.
