YORK is the only location in the world to feature a store from Danish watch and jewellery brand BERING.

The boutique in Colliergate, which has entered Retailer of the Year and Small Business of the Year, is also the UK service centre for BERING, where fully trained technicians conduct everything from basic repairs through to full services, on all Bering time pieces.

The BERING brand was born just four years ago in 2010 by its Dutch founders Lars Gram Skjonnemann and Michael Witt Johansen, who were determined to create a unique brand with a global presence.

The Bering Boutique in York is currently the brand’s only official boutique worldwide. Not only holding the complete collection of Bering watches and jewellery, but also managing the brand’s only dedicated online store in the UK and a comprehensive repair service to between 450 and 500 national retailers.

The BERING Boutique’s fully equipped watch repair and service centre employs four fully-trained technicians. Furthermore, the BERING Boutique is currently in the process of installing a Training Centre for new members of staff and apprentice technicians, creating more jobs.

BERING Boutique manager Shazad Ajmal, said: "As Bering grows, so does the BERING Boutique. Local to York, where we happily serve our beloved city on a daily basis, BERING Boutique also distributes from Scotland to London and across to Ireland through our fully transactional website.

"Yet the BERING Boutique never forgets where home is and wants to stay true to its Yorkshire roots. As such the store is proud sponsor of Leeds-based professional snooker player, Oliver Lines.

"Totally committed to providing the best possible service with the best possible product, BERING Boutique is an international business with its feet firmly placed on Yorkshire soil."
