HEAD Kathleen On June 15th, aged 84 years, in St. Leonard's Hospice. The Beloved wife of the late Alan, a dear sister and auntie. Funeral service to be held at York Crematorium on Friday, July 13th, at 1.00pm. Family Flowers only please. Donations in lieu if so desired to Yorkshire air Ambulance. Dress code optional. It was a strange feeling leaving York yesterday after my Aunties funeral, an empty feeling, Knowing for the first time if I ever return to York there will no longer be any family member left to visit. I have fond childhood memories of my Auntie Kath as well as all the other family members who are no longer with us. She was the last of the line, a strong woman who knew her own mind and what she wanted, A dignified lady who showed many an expression in her various smiles will forever hold in my memory, Along with all the times both Auntie Kath & Uncle Alan looked after me, gave me holidays, showed me sunshine and taught me understanding. My Uncle died 7yrs ago and my Aunt has deeply missed him everyday. I can now only take in the comfort that now, somehow or somewhere they are now reunited. I started off writing about how empty York made me feel. But I am sure the next time I return the walls will be crying out from all the wonderful memories of Auntie Kath, Uncle Alan, Auntie Frieda and Uncle Harry. God bless them all xx
