I seem to remember this lad was outstanding in the Play-off semi against Mansfield. Don't know what sort of season he's just had but looked quality that day, another solid signing. Early days but this squad looks very, very promising.

Great signing - caused us problems in both play-off games and the games last season - sooner have him in our side than playing against us.
Well done the Board and Nigel - looks like a strong squad - bring on the 12th, can't wait to see the assembled squad put through their paces.

Another good addition to the squad. Mansfield offered him a new deal so they must have been keen to keep him.

Looks like the squad is now pretty much complete in time for pre-season which is always good and allows the squad to gel and get used to playing together.

Much better than leaving transfers to late in the summer and up to the end of the transfer window when it indicates a panic approach. I much prefer NW's approach in getting players in early. I also think that he's probably learnt a lot from last season's build up when it was soon clear the squad wasn't strong enough hence the large number of loan players early on which is always a short term measure.

I think we are in a much healthier state going into this season and whilst I will still wait to see the pre-season games and early league games before making a prediction so far I'm very encouraged that we can do well.

Really good signing this one, along with the other close season signings, getting a good feeling about next season, this squad looks very strong and with Fletcher and Carson to come back too...

I've been quiet on the new signings so far - not as a criticism, but because I don't recall seeing any of them play so it's too early for judgements. I remember Meikle very well from the play-off semi's, however, and from what I recall this is an excellent signing.

Reckon NW has been very sure as to what is needed to do well in league 2 and gone for players that fit the bill. The team now have time to gell before the start of the season. Welcome to the the best club on the planet Lyndon!

I am by nature an optimist but this signing is another excellent, if unexpected, one. Where I live there are a few Mansfield fans (I live here to do football missionary work in my retirement) and I was speaking with one yesterday who said he had heard a rumour that Lindon was on his way. He hoped it would not be to City as he felt that this would make our team pretty hard to beat (something he said through gritted teeth) so here goes!!!!
Welcome to Lindon and many, many thanks to Nigel and the board for great business. Now we do mean business!!!

NW/ST/JM are assembling a squad that looks set to challenge for League 2 honours in the new season and like a lot of City fans, I remember this lad playing against us for the Stags at the One Call in May 2012 and he was their most dangerous forward and but for a very good Michael Ingham save, when he pushed his goal-bound effort over the cross-bar in the first-half of extra-time, we could have been out of the play-offs! Welcome Lindon to York City and with players like this in our side then season-ticket sales and home attendances should be on the up. COYR.

All in all some potentially exciting signings by NW & JMcG. It gives the players time to gel and bond with team mates, looking forward to pre-season friendlies. I see John Joe O'Toole has signed for Northampton, not disappointed to not sign him but I do suspect Northampton will not be in the bottom 2 at all this coming season. COYR

Like this signing a lot. We now have a player very similar to Carson who can play the other wing, which gives us a good balance in the team as well and Coulson. Heres how I believe we will line-up against Tranmere, if we are without Wes, Dan and Josh:
Mooney
McCoy Lowe McCombe Femi

Meikle Summerfield Penn Straker

Hyde Coulson

Looks a very strong team too me who could cause many teams in our league problems. Would still like too be an out-and-out goal scoring midfielder in on loan(ie. your Danny Kearns kind) but not too fussed if it doesn't happen. Any changes to team? Think we will be right up there next season just need a strong pre-season and a good start!

Does anone know if NW intends to do an evening with fans in the Social Club like he did last year? If so, there might be a clamour to get in!

There again does he need to do a PR job anymore? His business dealings since January (not to mention the team's performances) speak for themselves.
