THIS is the moment a North Yorkshire Police dog is reunited with his handler after missing his owner for a fortnight.
Police Dog Dutch demonstrates that absence really makes the heart grow fonder as he joyfully jumps into the arms of dog handler, PC Marc Richardson, when he saw him for the first time after the officer had been on leave for two weeks.
While PC Richardson’s other dog, spaniel Bailey jets around excitedly in circles.
The heart-warming video has been shared hundreds of times on social media and has had 79,000 views on Facebook.
People commented on the site: “That unconditional love is just great. They are not just dogs they are best friends”
“This is the best thing I’ve seen all day.”
PD Dutch is a Dutch Shepherd dog and has worked with PC Richardson for the past five years.
