SHOPPERS and tourists in York city centre were reaching for their cameras, when a traditional beer dray rolled into town.

Thwaites Brewery brought the classic cart into the city to celebrate the reopening of the Judge’s Lodgings pub in Lendal, following a major refurbishment.

The downstairs bar has been refitted and rearranged, and a new bar and roof-top terrace created upstairs.

New guest rooms have also been created.

Come on Press, terrible reporting. That is not the Judges Lodging, it is round the corner in Lendal. Very poor effort.

Rather like the horse that disgraced itself while pulling the Emir of Kuwait in a UK royal procession. The Queen embarrassedly turned to her guest and said "Oh Emir, I'm so sorry...."
The Emir replied "That is alright Your Majesty. I thought it was one of the horses...!"

It is not open, we went tonight and were turfed out because it was a 'private do'.
Dear Press reporters, please do not do fluff pieces for businesses if you have not got the integrity to find out if they are telling you the truth!

Last time I went in there they had one hand-pump with two pump clips on it. The person in front of me had one beer and I ordered the other. The barman simply operated a valve underneath to switch the line over and then pulled my pint through the same pump.

I refused it and walked out, never to return.
