VISITORS to York's two new museums dedicated to Henry VII and Richard III will be able to enjoy admission to both events as part of the launch of a new ticket.

To tie in with the opening of the Henry VII Experience at Micklegate Bar and the Richard III Experience at Monk Bar, Jorvik has created the Medieval Pass, granting guests a full year of visits to the two new attractions and medieval house Barley Hall.

Sarah Maltby, director of attractions for the Jorvik Group of Attractions said that the new pass will enable visitors to learn about the different aspects of medieval and Tudor life as they walk along the city walls between Monk Bar and Micklegate Bar.

She said: "These two new attractions, set within the historic Bars along the York city walls, will highlight just how important the city was to the kings and how these monarchs influenced the development of the city.

"Our new Medieval Pass will help visitors to explore the many different aspects of medieval and Tudor-age at their leisure."

Starting at Monk Bar, visitors will go past York Minster, Museum Gardens and The Anglian Tower as they learn about the life of Yorkist Richard before making it to Micklegate Bar where the story of his successor King Henry VIII can be discovered.

After, visitors will have the chance to see where the two kings were welcomed during their visits to York at Barley Hall, which was once the home of Lord Mayor of York William Snawsell.

The Medieval Pass will be available from Saturday (5th) when the two new attractions open and will cost £8 for adults, £4.50 children and £6 for concessions. Family tickets are also available. For more information visit www.richardiiiexperience.com or henryviiexperience.com

Then again, I might buy one of these. If it offers a full year, I think I'll go for 1642.
