YORK-BORN Danny Allan has signed for York City Knights’ Co-operative Championship rivals Hunslet Hawks.
The former Leeds Rhinos junior, a product of Heworth ARLC, who generally plays at loose-forward or stand-off, has penned a one-year deal at the John Charles Stadium following a spell out of the game.
Allan, 22, played five games for home-town club York on loan from Featherstone in 2010 before falling out with then boss Dave Woods. He also had a loan spell at Doncaster earlier that season.
Former Knights Dave Clayton and Joe McLocklan are among players to have joined another ex-Knight, David March, in re-signing for the Hawks, despite the departure of former Knights player-boss Paul March to Keighley on a playing contract only.
More former Knights, Joe Helme and Richard Blakeway, are expected to leave the Hawks, who are now coached by Barry Eaton.
