York City Knights have expressed their delight in the capture of former Wigan second-row Danny Hill.
The 25-year-old, who made 12 appearances for the Warriors in 2006 and '07 after joining from home-town club Hull, also had a short loan spell with Hull KR and played for Championship big-guns Widnes in 2008 before injury hampered his career.
The former England Schoolboy international has been getting back on track this year starring in the National Conference League with premier division outfit East Hull – rivals of his old junior club, West Hull.
The Press revealed yesterday that the move was imminent, and Knights general manager Ian Wilson today confirmed the deal, saying Hill would add size and experience to the Huntington Stadium squad as preparations for the 2010 season continue to take shape.
"We are delighted to be able to sign a player of Danny’s quality," said Wilson.
"He is a big, athletic player who runs great lines and defends really well and I'm sure he will be a great addition to the squad.
"His experience in Super League will certainly help the younger members of the team and we are looking forward to seeing him, and all of the other players, take the field."
