THE York Select XIII will wear a new set of shorts and socks tomorrow – as designed by winger Rob Kama.
The representative side will wear the same shirts as they did in the inaugural Lee McTigue Memorial last year, which incorporates his name in the badge.
But rather than wear their own various shorts, they will have a new set, as supplied by Kingdom Sports, who are based in the North East, near to where soldier Kama is currently stationed.
The Fijian, who used to play for York City Knights and is now back with York RUFC after helping the British Combined Services win the Armed Services Rugby League World Cup in Australia, is also a budding designer and came up with the idea for the shorts after being a late call-up to the York Select XIII squad.
The shorts will include Kama’s design which incorporates the initials LM, the Yorkshire rose and the York Select banner.
