BRAD WARD has extended his York Knights contract with a new one-year deal with the club.
Ward joined the Knights ahead of the 2022 season from the Hull Kingston Rovers academy, following a successful trial period with the club.
The outside-back featured in pre-season friendlies against Midlands Hurricanes and Castleford Tigers, impressing head coach James Ford and earning an initial two-year contract with York.
Ward is also formerly of Heworth RLFC, having played for their junior sides, and had a brief loan spell with Rochdale Hornets alongside Myles Harrison in 2022.
The 20-year-old made 15 appearances over two seasons with York, scoring five tries, and was part of the Knights squad that reached the Betfred Championship play-offs in the 2023 season.
Ward also becomes the 16th player to pen a deal with Andrew Henderson's Knights ahead of the 2024 season, with new signings Richie Myler and Alex Donaghy also announced in the past two days.
