YORK Knights' Jack Teanby is among five players facing bans following yesterday's 34-14 Betfred Challenge Cup Quarter Final defeat to Leigh Leopards.

The interchange forward was sin-binned for a high tackle in the final stages of the tie, and now faces a Grade C charge for a dangerous throw - one that carries with it a one-match suspension.

Teanby has until 11am tomorrow (Tuesday) to appeal the charge, which would see him miss Sunday's home clash with Betfred Championship leaders Featherstone Rovers (3pm).

With the ferocious and physical nature of the tie, it is perhaps unsurprising to see a further four players charged by the RFL.

Leopards quartet Kai O'Donnell, Zak Hardaker, Ava Seumanufagai and Tom Nisbet also face bans following the fiesty encounter, whilst there has been no further action for John Asiata's late contact on half-back Ata Hingano in the game's 16th minute.

O'Donnell's is the most severe, with the forward facing a minimum of six matches on the sidelines following a Grade F charge after his red card spear tackle on Josh Daley that saw him dismissed inside five minutes.

His case will now be sent to tribunal to determine the exact number of matches that his ban will cover.

Former Leeds Rhinos centre Hardaker - whom many felt should have been sent from the field rather than merely cautioned for his tackle on AJ Towse - has been handed a Grade C charge for a dangerous throw.

That carries with it a one-match ban, as does Seumanufagai's Grade B dangerous contact charge, in which he has been adjudged to have made contact in a vulnerable position which causes flexation to the head, neck or spinal column.

Nisbet's dangerous contact charge is more severe at Grade C, with the second-rower facing a two-match ban for forcefully twisting or bending in the tackle.
