YORK City Knights fans are backing the club to keep their place in the Betfred Championship play-offs come the end of the season.
That’s according to a poll run by The Press Sport website which saw 94% of voters believing that York will finish in the top five come September 8.
York are currently second in the table and 18% of voters reckon that’s where they will finish after 27 rounds of action.
20% think they’ll place a position lower in third but the largest portion - 37% - think that the Knights will conclude their campaign in fourth.
A fifth-placed finish was voted at by 19% but just 6% thought that James Ford’s side would fall out of the play-off positions altogether.
The Knights are currently second in the table, 12 points behind run-away League Leaders Shield winners Toronto, a point clear of both Toulouse (3rd) and Leigh (4th) and three points ahead of fifth-placed Featherstone.
York also hold a significant lead on Bradford and Sheffield who are outside the play-offs, ahead by six and seven points respectively.
Up next for York is a trip to Cumbria to take on relegation-battling Barrow Raiders on Sunday August 4.
