ALL three new loan signings will make their York City Knights debut tomorrow when the team take on Featherstone Rovers at the Championship's Summer Bash in Blackpool.

Liam Harris, a fan favourite at York in 2017, who has rejoined the club from Hull FC, goes straight into the side at full-back.

Harry Aldous, younger brother of former Knights captain Jack, will start in the front row following his arrival from Newcastle Thunder, and big teenager Tyler Dupree, who has joined from Leeds Rhinos, will be an interchange prop.

Head coach James Ford has made five changes in all to the side that held on for victory at Rochdale last week, with arguably the most notable being a recall for fit-again Harry Carter - who has been "folding blokes in half" in training - in place of Kriss Brining as interchange hooker.

Injuries have restricted Carter to just four appearances this season, his last being in the victory over Halifax in mid-March, when he pulled a hamstring.

Kevin Brown also gets a rare start on the wing, with Judah Mazive omitted.

The other three to drop out are packmen Josh Jordan-Roberts, Mike Kelly and Jordan Baldwinson, who limped off early on against Rochdale with a knee injury, with Harris' inclusion seeing Jason Bass revert to centre and Brad Hey to the back row.

Second-row Sam Scott is deemed fit enough to return to the 19-man travelling party but is likely to be on stand-by, while props Ronan Dixon, who pulled out in the warm-up last week, and Graeme Horne remain a week or two from fitness.

Ford said of Harris: "There have been talks going on for a while about Liam. I didn't think it would get done for this game but it has been done and I'm delighted to have him back.

"Liam knows what I think of him and his potential."

Harris and Matty Marsh, who starts at half-back, are likely to interchange during the 80 minutes.

"I believe Liam could mature into a top full-back or half-back - I'm not too concerned which slot he fills," added Ford.

"They will swap around to help manage their energy levels. It's a big ask, playing full-back, as it saps your energy, especially the way we play."

Harris has not played a lot this year, with only a handful of appearances for Hull, Hull reserves and Doncaster on dual-reg.

But Ford said: "That doesn't concern me. I know what he's capable of. If he works hard, his potential is up there."

On Brining's omission, Ford explained: "Kriss has been carrying a couple of knocks. He probably needed a rest a couple of weeks ago. We just didn't have the players to give him the rotation he needed.

"He's come to us on the back of a year out and no pre-season and he's done alright, but there's another level in him. He's done it tough for us but we need to help him get back to his best and to do that he has a rest this week."

On Carter's recall, he said: "Harry's up for it. There's been some contact in training this week, put it that way.

"I've no idea why anyone would run anywhere near him - he's been folding blokes in half. You can't not pick a bloke when they're training to that level."

Ford, meanwhile was "unconcerned" by the relatively high number of changes.

"My concern a couple of weeks ago was whether we'd have 17 players," he reasoned. "Now there's more than 17 with good players hopefully coming back soon.

"I'm delighted with the support from the club, Squadbuilder, and the fans - they've really got behind us.

"We have some changes to combinations but everyone gets them at this time of year. It is what it is."

Harris, Aldous and Dupree all trained for the first time with York on Thursday night.

Ford added of that session: "I've been really pleased with our preparation. There's clarity in what we're doing. The vibe I'm picking up from the boys is a pleasing one. We're looking forward to the game."

Featherstone boss Ryan Carr makes only one change to the squad that thrashed Rochdale 56-10 in their previous outing a fortnight ago, with Luke Briscoe replacing 18th man Jorge Richardson.

The latter was forced off when Fev reserves were beaten by England Universities recently.

Jack Bussey, a top performer at stand-off in the previous meeting with York, remains out with injury. However, Aussie-born half-back Dane Chisholm - man of the match that day on his debut after joining on loan from Bradford Bulls - stays in and will make his first appearance since making that switch permanent.

From the 17 that last played York, former Super League prop Scott Wheeldon is out but dual-reg Leeds full-back Ashton Golding and hooker/loose-forward Danny Maskill are in, while Bussey's replacement in the halves is former Castleford playmaker Tom Holmes.

Rovers are still seeking their first win in Blackpool, having lost all four Summer Bash fixtures since the event began in 2015.

Kick off is 5.45pm.
