FAN favourite Liam Harris is back at York City Knights and will make his latest debut for the club in tomorrow's Summer Bash clash against Featherstone Rovers.

Injuries to Ben Cockayne and loanee Cain Southernwood have left the Knights short at half-back but The Press reported earlier this week that moves into the market were imminent and the club have duly brought the 22-year-old back on loan from Hull FC.

They have also added to their pack options by signing big teenage prop Tyler Dupree from Leeds Rhinos and utility forward Harry Aldous - younger brother of former captain Jack - from Newcastle Thunder, both also on loan.

Harris join on a season-long loan, although Hull will have a 24-hour recall option after the first month.

Knights boss James Ford said: “I’m very pleased to be in a position to work with Liam again.

“I’m very confident that if he works hard and keeps his focus he can kick on and be a key player at the top level.”

Harris became a fan favourite at Bootham Crescent when making 18 appearances on dual-reg from Hull KR in 2017, scoring 14 tries and 12 goals, with his performances - including a sparkling show in the shock victory over full-timers Toronto Wolfpack - earning him a nomination for the League One Young Player of the Year award.

He signed for Doncaster ahead of the 2018 season before making the move in May that year to Hull, where he has made 12 Super League appearances to date - scoring a try on debut against former club Hull KR in the Humberside derby.

He is contracted at the KCOM Stadium until the end of 2020.

Dupree joins on a one-month loan deal.

The 19-year-old made 22 appearances off the bench for Leeds' academy side last year, scoring nine tries, and also represented Yorkshire Academy. His performances earned him Rhinos first-team squad number 35 for 2019.

Ford found more out about Dupree via his work as England Academy assistant-coach.

He said: “I’m pleased to bring in a young prop to the club who has massive potential.

“Tyler comes highly recommended by the Rhinos and I’m fully aware of the strengths and weaknesses of Tyler after seeing him play and train with the EPU (England Performance Unit).

“If he’s willing to work hard in one or two areas I’m sure he’ll kick on and develop into a very good player.”

Aldous, 23, also arrives on a one-month loan.

A product of the Hull KR academy, he has played nearly 80 games for Newcastle since joining them in December 2015.

The move has been made possible through the Knights Squadbuilder fund.

Ford said: “I am humbled by the support from our supporters and specifically Squadbuilder - their efforts have clearly facilitated the loan signing of Harry.

“He’s an aggressive forward who I’ve wanted to sign on a couple of occasions. He will bring plenty of aggression and intensity in contact.

“I’m confident that if Harry buys into our culture and attitude towards hard work he’ll find new levels to his game in our environment.”

Aldous said: “I’m very happy to join York on loan. It’s a great club who are doing great this year in the Championship and I’m really looking forward to starting with them.”
