Moment of the match: Jack Blagbrough’s second-half try – which proved decisive – came courtesy of a fine piece of half-back play from Connor Robinson, who breezed through the line with a lovely show and go.

Gaffe of the match: where to start? There were a number of howler moments, the positive being that York still won despite them.

Gamebreaker: like last week against Batley, it was only the final hooter that assured victory as the Knights held on with hosts Rochdale pressing.

Match rating: this was an error-strewn performance from York against a bottom-of-the-table Rochdale, the main positives of which were the two points which lifted the Knights to third in the Championship table.
