YORK City Knights again try to end their long losing run in Barrow this weekend - and boss James Ford has again dismissed any notions of jinxes, hoodoos or bogey sides.

The Knights have not beaten the Raiders on their own turf since 2004, a run comprising seven visits. Ford has been in charge for three of them.

However the Minster city side ended a run of 13 defeats home or away against the Cumbrians when walloping Paul Crarey's team 56-0 at Bootham Crescent last month, and Ford, when asked if the bogey team tag should be put to bed ahead of tomorrow's Coral Challenge Cup fourth round tie, said: "I know some people like to use those phrases, and that's fine.

"But we don't believe in that.

"We're just focusing on ourselves being better every week.

"Other results historically, with other players and other coaches, don't really interest me.

"I don't think it's relevant. What's relevant is our preparation and the attitude we take to Barrow.

"The lads don't enjoy losing anywhere."
