YORK City Knights have signed outside-back Nick Rawsthorne from Toronto Wolfpack, initially on a one-month loan.

The 23-year-old returns to York City Knights, whom he first joined on loan in March 2017. He impressed during this stint, scoring eight tries and 10 goals in five appearances.

With Wolfpack not participating in the 2019 Coral Challenge Cup, Rawsthorne is in contention for the Knights squad this Sunday at Barrow Raiders.

Head coach James Ford said: “I’m delighted to bring Nick back to the club and I’m confident he’ll be a positive asset to the squad. Nick has the potential to kick on and develop into a fine player if he works hard enough at his game.

“He’s got plenty of strike and adds versatility as he can play across the backline.”

A former England rugby union youth international, Rawsthorne joined Hull FC following his performances for Halifax in 2016.

He joined Toronto ahead of the 2018 season and was a try-scorer in their 48-12 Betfred Championship victory over Halifax last week.
