HALIFAX boss Richard Marshall has urged the Shay faithful to turn up in number and get behind his team at Bootham Crescent tomorrow.

Both Fax and hosts York City Knights have four wins so far this term, with York sitting higher in the table in third on points-difference and with a game in hand.

The promoted Knights' sole defeat came to title favourites Toronto Wolfpack on the opening day of the season, two late tries sealing a 14-0 result. Their latest outing was a nail-biting 9-8 win over a Leigh side that Halifax defeated 33-26 last month.

Fax have also narrowly beaten Swinton and Batley this term and saw off Dewsbury 26-0 last Sunday, but they have shipped 40 and 46 points respectively in defeats at Widnes and Featherstone.

Speaking to Halifax's video channel, Marshall said his message to the fans was to "get behind us this weekend".

"It's an important game," he reasoned. "York are a really good team - well-coached, well-drilled - and they will be up for it.

"They haven't lost by more than 14 points in the competition and they sit above us in the table. There's a lot to play for so get down their banging the drum and singing the boys on."
