Man of the match: Ben Cockayne – what a way to bring up 350 career appearances. The 35-year-old rolled back the years with a superb show at stand-off. On most other days, Jason Bass would deserve the accolade for a wonderful hat-trick, as would Joe Batchelor for his ace two-try return, or Connor Robinson for his 28 points.
Referee: Liam Staveley (Bradford) – not too bad.
Penalty count: 14-9
Half-time: 26-0
Weather: good conditions for rugby league.
Attendance: 2,000 approx
Moment of the match: Take your pick – Joe Batchelor’s 60-metre interception try, Dave Petersen’s finish after Ben Cockayne's break in centre-field, or Liam Salter’s try just before half-time, with a flying finish after superb creation from Ash Robson and Matty Marsh. Or Jason Bass’ hat-trick try in his second-half treble.
Gaffe of the match: There were a few turnovers but York’s superb defence made sure none proved costly in the slightest.
Gamebreaker: Liam Salter’s wonderful try just before the half-time hooter gave Barrow a mountain to climb at 26-0 down and, while York fans saw their team come back from 16-0 behind to win at Dewsbury last week, there was to be no such conquest here - a yellow card for Jarrad Stack and a Connor Robinson try 10 minutes into the second half ending any chance of that.
Match rating: if only The Jam were there, because… That’s Entertainment!
