BACK-IN-FORM Simon Brown will sit out York City Knights' Kingstone Press Championship match at Leigh Centurions after being handed a one-match ban.

Rugby Football League disciplinary chiefs slapped him with a suspension for punching Ollie Pursglove during the Knights' league win over Keighley nine days ago.

The two players had been sin-binned during the match for fighting, an incident which caused a melée. While Brown submitted an early guilty plea to the grade 'B' charge of punching, Pursglove faced no charge and was handed no additional punishment as the disciplinary panel deemed he threw no punches.

Brown's absence means Jonny Presley, The Press Player of the Month for May, is poised to return to a half-back role alongside Ben Johnston for the match at Leigh Sports Village, with young-gun Kriss Brining reverting to replacement hooker.
