YORK City Knights are off to the south of France after being drawn away to Catalans Dragons in the Tetley’s Challenge Cup fifth round.
Super League side Catalans were the first name out of the hat in the draw, which was broadcast live on the Richard Bacon Show on BBC Radio 5Live, and the Knights were second.
York, of the Kingstone Press Championship, beat another French club, Toulouse, 30-28 in the fourth round at Huntington Stadium on Sunday.
They will be massive underdogs this time, though, against a side who lie fifth in Super League and have a strong home record, with only one defeat at the Gilbert Brutus Stadium so far this term, to champions Leeds. Among their number are stars of the game such as Brent Webb, Leon Pryce, Thomas Bosc and Steve Menzies.
The Dragons cantered to a 50-12 win at Hunslet Hawks - whom the Knights face in the league on Sunday - in the fourth round, despite having Ian Henderson sent off.
There will be at least one Kingstone Press Championship club in the last eight after Sheffield were paired with Halifax. Cup holders Warrington host Salford.
The last-16 ties will be played over the weekend of May 11-12, with York’s game likely to be played on Saturday, May 11 - the same day at the FA Cup final.
Full fifth round draw: Catalans Dragons v York City Knights, Hull v Wakefield, Workington v Widnes, Hull KR v Wigan, London Broncos v Bradford, Warrington v Salford, Huddersfield v Leeds, Sheffield v Halifax.
