YORK City manager Neal Ardley is looking to bring in a new signing next week.

After the appointment of a new Data Analyst to the club to aid recruitment, Ardley is hoping to have a player over the line in the early stages of next week, with his eyes set on a number of targets.

Ardley also alluded to the fact that deals had fallen through in recent weeks for players, but hopes that his side can become stronger over the next month with a fresh impetus of players.

“We’ll set out the week and do some fitness work and some tactical work,” Ardley confirmed.

“The biggest challenge over this two weeks is that we knew that we had a cup game and couldn’t make any signings, they’d be cup-tied and the biggest challenge we’ve got is trying to add one or two.

“I’ve said it before, we’re trying to add players and things have fallen through for different reasons, we’re going to try and work on that early this week.

“We’ll see if we can get one over the line early this week, we’ve got a new data recruitment guy starting this week and we’re looking at other positions as well.

“It’s not going to happen overnight, we would love them in this week, but if it could happen over the next month then we can strengthen the squad.”
