YORK City defender Ryan Fallowfield has heaped praise onto manager Neal Ardley after the Minstermen secured a last-gasp victory over Woking.

Fallowfield's 98th minute strike handed York a crucial three points in front of the TNT cameras in this afternoon's early kick-off, with City heading home from Surrey with a 2-1 win.

The York defender was delighted with the result and placed credit onto manager Ardley, whilst also thanking the City supporters for their unwavering support.

“We were under the cosh in the second half, but we knew what they were about." Fallowfield told TNT Sports after the final whistle.

"We just had to be in the right place at the right time.

“We knew they were going to come out in the second half, we lost a lot of men in a tough and physical game.

"We had to ride our luck a little bit, and I got my chance and put it away.

“The gaffer has been brilliant.

"The first day since he has came in, he’s been onto us and we knew we needed to do better.

"We knew we needed to start picking up results, and obviously this is a result in the right step and hopefully it can continue.

“It was a different game midweek, at Oldham we had a lot of the ball and here, it was not so much.

"We had to win the fight, pick up second balls and do the ugly stuff as well, and I feel like we’ve done that.

“The fans for us are absolutely brilliant. They turn up week in week out, and they always support us."
