Updated: A CHANGE of scenery could be the key to another UK Championship crown for Shaun Murphy.
The ‘Magician’ will play Graeme Dott in round two after a dogged 6-3 victory over Robert Milkins.
It was a tale of two sessions, the first marked by great attacking play before becoming more tactical after the interval.
Murphy won a crucial eighth frame to lead 5-3 and took the match with a break of 85.
He said: “I’ve been working on all parts of my game. I’ve gone to a new club and I am enjoying getting stuck into a new place. I feel in good form and it’s a change of scenery and I’m meeting some new people. At the moment, it’s working out.”
Milkins added: “I’ve been poorly now for five days and let it affect me. It wasn’t too bad after the interval but, on certain shots, I have been getting down and getting back up to make sure I was hitting the right ball.
“I’ve been dizzy for five days.”
