A LAST-GASP converted try consigned York RI RUFC to an 18-15 defeat at Bramley in Yorkshire Three.
RI had started briskly and, after early exchanges in a driving maul, player coach Kerry Wood crashed in at the corner for an unconverted try. After 16 minutes, RI’s Frazer Land was yellow-carded and Bramley took full advantage to level the scores at 5-5.
The rest of the half was even, with Chris Morley goaling for RI and Bramley replying to go in 8-8 at half-time.
Early in the second half, Bramley converted another penalty.
The game fluctuated until the 65th minute, when man of the match Aidie Horwell made a storming 30-metre break and exhanged passes with Wood to score under the posts for an easy conversion by Morley.
However, Bramley stole the match right on the whistle.
