Pocklington RUFC’s last home game of the season was a 13-try romp as the Yorkshire Two champions hammered winless Old Rishworthians 90-7.
The hosts led 34-0 at the break en route to their 19th straight league victory and a league record score.
Scrum-half Ben Rees scored a hat-trick of tries, while full-back Nick Bennett opened the scoring with a penalty before crossing for two tries and kicking 11 conversions. Bennett’s 35-point tally took him to 315 points for the campaign – only the fourth Pock player to go past the 300-point mark in a season, joining Paul Jackson (1973), Billy Hardy (1986) and Gary Pearce (2000).
Fly-half Joe Holbrough got two tries, while further scores came from centre Jack Holbrough, skipper Matt Webber, flanker Tom Peters, number eight Karl Durkin and centre Alex Clark, plus a penalty try.
