After a special veterans’ challenge game last Saturday, Percy Road sees further action from the over-40s when it stages the Pocklington 10-a-side Veterans Tournament on Sunday, sponsored by Cockerill Potato Merchants.
The tournament starts at 12.30pm and features eight veterans’ teams competing for the Out Of Africa Trophy donated to the club by the Nairobi Lions vets side when they toured Pocklington three years ago.
There is a mix of local sides and interest from further afield.
Selby, the holders, Bishop Burton Old Boys, Rowntrees, Pocklington Merovingians and Pocklington Pilgrims will battle it out with London OPs and touring Market Bowsworth. For more details, or for playing enquiries, phone Paul Rhodes on 01430 860552.
