INJURY-HIT York RUFC ended their Yorkshire One season with a 15-13 home defeat by Scarborough.

The Clifton Parkers led 8-0 at half-time after a try by Billy Cakaunitabua and a penalty from Paul Williams.

Boro hit back to lead 10-8 and, although Alex Nixon rounded off a fine backs move to score, the visitors scored the winning try in the last minute.

York’s last chance of silverware is in the Yorkshire Shield and they will host either Selby or Bridlington in the quarter-finals after beating Guisborough 40-8 in the last 16.

Pocklington ended their Yorkshire Two campaign on a high with eight tries in a 54-0 home victory over Yarnbury.

Centre Nick Bennett scored five tries and kicked six conversions. Teenage winger Sam Craven scored two tries on his home debut and flanker Jack Holbrough added the eighth touchdown, which scrum half Mark Stringer converted with a drop kick.
