RESURGENT York RUFC have a derby day destruction on their minds.

The Clifton Parkers travel to Sandhill Lane to take on Selby in Yorkshire One looking to continue an impressive run of form which has seen them edge ever closer to Twickenham.

York followed up their EDF Senior Vase heroics by beating Sheffield 20-16 last weekend.

Another victory against the near neighbours would see them go into their sixth round cup clash at Bradford Salem in fine fettle, as well as further improving their league position.

With the first team squad due to train tonight, club chiefs are yet to announce the final XV, but captain Jon Sharpe is missing from the squad.

The 18-man line up does include Sam Potrykus, centre Rob Taylor, lock James Rossington and flying Fijian winger Rob Kama.

With the promise of last season’s third place performance having evaporated, Selby will be looking to pick up valuable points.

The Swans are fourth bottom, four points off the basement, and have won three matches all season.

Malton and Norton can pull themselves further away from the Yorkshire One relegation zone if they beat basement club Glossop at The Gannock, while York RI host Rotherham Phoenix in Yorkshire Four.

Pocklington face a tough trip to league leaders Wheatley Hills in Yorkshire Two. The sides fought out a thrilling 15-15 draw at Percy Road in October.

They select the same squad that had an enforced rest last weekend due to their game with Ripon being postponed.

On Sunday, Pocklington Under-12s are at home to Ripon in the semi-final of the Yorkshire Cup (11am).
