York Groves ARLC travel to Siddal B' on Saturday with joint-coach Simon Moat saying their away form could be the key to their season.

The Terriers have started the Pennine League division five season well with two wins from three, and have added scrum-half Dean Kilbride to the coaching staff to bolster their decision-making options.

Moat now wants the club to build on their promising development. "The key to our season is travelling in strength," said Moat.

"The squad is capable of achieving our goal of promotion. We just need to compete on the road as well as we do at home."

Moat added that Kilbride was already adding good aspects to training and match-day decision-making.

"Having him on board has given the lads a boost," he said. "The players have tremendous respect for his ability and he's really keen to see the club progress."

The team have one injury worry for this weekend with loose-forward Mark Arnold having hurt his back in last week's 48-0 drubbing of Woodhouse, but they welcome back to the squad utility forward Paul Fowler and winger Rich Currer.

Groves run a coach to all of their away fixtures, and supporters welcome.

It's derby time in division three as York Acorn A' host Selby Warriors. The promoted Warriors have begun the season with three wins from four and will travel to Thanet Road in high spirits after ending Undercliffe's unbeaten start to the campaign with a 39-16 win.

Heworth A', who got off the mark in Yorkshire League division three last week by thumping Scarborough Pirates, will hope that confidence booster sets them up well for the trip to Shaw Cross A'.
