HEWORTH A' proved far too strong for a brave but inexperienced Scarborough Pirates to win 88-6 in the Yorkshire League 3 encounter at Elmpark Way.
After a quiet opening, tries came at regular intervals and, in all, 11 touchdowns were recorded. Centre Kenny Embleton led the way with four tries, while Gary Watkinson crossed for a hat-trick and added seven conversions for a 26-point solo haul.
Open age debutants Callum Sullivan (2) and Rich Rogers (1) excelled.
Other try-scorers were Sam Johnson, Sean Holmes, Chris Varley, Ben Eastwood, Carl Smith (2) and Jamie Richardson who also added three conversions.
Captain Danny Sinclair led his team well and was backed by Ollie Knowles and Kevin Gott.
