IN-FORM Heworth ARLC made it six wins in a row in National Conference League division three with an emphatic 26-0 victory at Waterhead Warriors.

With incessant rain throughout, the Villagers totally dominated the match in difficult conditions with an impressive defensive effort to keep their line intact, while in attack, their ability to control the ball in the greasy conditions brought them four well-worked tries.

The Black and Whites remain fifth in the table and are still looking upwards with this win, which continues their good away form, with eight of their last 12 points coming away from home. It also means Heworth have put nearly 100 points on Waterhead this season, following April's 72-6 win.

Heworth went in front after only five minutes when stand-off Ben Dyson-Dent and scrum-half Liam Jackson combined to put second-rower Fergus Chapman over for an unconverted try.

Six minutes later they increased their advantage after Dyson-Dent spotted a gap in the home defence close to the line and darted over to touch down. Sibling winger Adam Dent added the extras.

With quarter of an hour remaining of the half, Dent slotted a penalty goal to give the Villagers a 12-0 half-time lead.

With the scent of victory in their nostrils, the Black and Whites started the second period on the front foot and, on 46 minutes, a perfectly timed pass from Jackson sent Chapman striding over for his second touchdown, which was goaled by Dent to put them firmly in control.

The Warriors struggled manfully to get back into the match but the pressure of playing catch-up football in the worsening conditions only led to more handling mistakes and inevitably it was Heworth who registered the decisive score just before the hour mark.

Jackson was again the provider sliding a neat grubber kick through the defensive line and substitute Liam Cashmore followed up to touch down. Dent tagged on his third conversion and on 65 minutes stroked over a penalty goal to put the icing on the cake for the jubilant visitors.

Prop Liam Richmond crowned a strong performance with the man-of-the-match award for Heworth.

In the newly combined NCL Alliance League, Heworth 'A' registered their first victory of the season, winning 32-28 at Dewsbury Celtic 'A'.

After conceding the opening try, the Villagers hit back to lead 18-12 at the break and a strong defensive effort in the second period ensured the hosts were never able to get their noses in front.

Try scorers for Heworth were Liam Braithwaite, Josh Hughes, James Gill, Jake Atkinson, Lewis Taylor and veteran Mike Welsh with Connor Murray (3) and Taylor adding conversions.

Matt Chapman was man of the match, with Hughes, Ben Barnard and Braithwaite also standing out.

In Yorkshire Men's League premier division, New Earswick All Blacks maintained their 100 per cent away record, edging past hosts Cutsyke Raiders 32-30.

It was a to-and-fro first half, with newly-promoted Cutsyke taking an early 6-0 lead before All Blacks hit back through man-of-the-match Jack Stearman, who dummied from acting half and barged over on the fifth tackle. Half-back Conor Calam converted.

Cutsyke went in front again when they charged down a kick on the fifth tackle for a converted score but Jack Law crossed for a converted All Blacks score from a neat play by half-Back Liam Gargan.

The hosts punished All Blacks' poor defending with the first play of the second half, and added to this score five minutes later to stretch their lead to 24-12, but All Blacks got back into the game through Calam, whose deft chip over the top was fumbled straight back to him and he touched down for a converted try before Jordan Rice added a converted score to level.

After the teams the swapped penalties for two points, Cutsyke scored their crucially unconverted final try and, with five minutes remaining, Rice crashed over on the angle after a Sean Malarkey-inspired counter-attack, and centre Tom Barron converted.

Full-back Ewen Coverdale and Danny Byworth were both key to All Blacks' success.
