TODAY’S scheduled game between a York & District Amateur Rugby League side and City of Hull & District has been called off.
The encounter was due to kick off at 2pm this afternoon at Thanet Road.
However, the Hull side have been unable to raise a full team, and the match has been shelved for now.
York coach Leigh Paul-Rientoul had named a squad containing a strong showing from York Acorn – whom he formerly coached – plus a smattering from New Earswick All Blacks and a
lone Heworth man, Adam Speck.
Dual-code player Ben Tenge was selected following the conclusion of Malton & Norton RUFC’s season, as well as All Blacks player-coach Jack Stearman and former York Lokomotive chairman Matt Chapman.
