HEWORTH ARL are not out of the title running yet in Yorkshire Men's League division - and victory at Keighley Albion on Saturday (2.30pm) could boost their hopes.

The Villagers are 10 points off the top two but the title will be decided via top-four play-offs and George Elliott's men are currently only one point behind fourth-placed York Acorn 'A' and four behind third-placed Skirlaugh with three games to go.

Acorn and Skirlaugh will also take points off each other on Saturday as they meet at Thanet Road, with the Blue and Golds likely to be depleted.

Heworth currently have the best points-difference of the teams chasing third and fourth.

New Earswick All Blacks were looking to virtually secure top spot last night as they went to lowly West Hull.

Victory would have moved them four points clear of Norland Sharks with a much healthier points-difference too. Norland are the only team who can catch them with only two games in which to do so.

All Blacks' one remaining game before the play-offs is a derby at Acorn 'A' on September 9 - with the two potentially meeting again soon after in the play-offs.
