YORK Lokomotive ARLC and Heworth ‘A’ have rearranged their first-ever Yorkshire Men’s League division two derby clash to tomorrow night – and Lokos player Liam Watling cannot wait.
It will be the first time the two teams have met, having previously been in different leagues and having avoided each other in local cups.
Watling said: “It will be tough like any other derby but we’ll be going in hoping to win. I think it might be a bit heated but you can’t beat a good, physical derby.”
Lokos are likely to field a similar side to that which lost 24-4 last week to a Shaw Cross ‘A’ side featuring a few first-teamers, winger Stu Dickinson getting the Lokos’ sole try.
Tomorrow’s match kicks off at the Lokos’ New Lane home at 7pm.
Selby Warriors’ new summer team go to Myton Warriors ‘A’ with both looking for their first win in the league’s entry division.
