Haxby Under-12 netball team at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield
Haxby Under-12s netballers did themselves proud at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield when taking part in a regional netball festival.
They had qualified for the tournament through a North Yorkshire County League competition over a four-week period before Christmas.
The first two matches in Sheffield proved very difficult against Hull Chevrons and then Leeds Athletic, who finished runners-up and winners respectively.
But the Haxby heads did not go down and from then on they showed their skill, winning five matches and drawing two to finish in an impressive fourth place, and as the top U12 team in North Yorkshire.
