Pocklington Dolphins duo Tilly Rennison and Hannah Stanton teamed up to win gold at the British Triathlon Championships in Birmingham.

Competing in a three-strong team with Laura Jeal, of the Yorkshire Pentathlon Club, they won the team prize in the running, swimming and shooting triathlon event.

The success was the ten-year-old Pock pair’s second British age group gold medal in the last six months.

In the girl’s ‘E’ class, Rennison came seventh in the run, closely followed by Stanton a place further back.

Both performed well in the 50 metre freestyle swim and Rennison produced a personal best in the shooting.

Stanton narrowly missed out on her PB in the shooting but still took sixth place in the overall individual standings, with Rennison third.

There was also a team gold in the boy’s ‘E’ class event for Pock’s Adam Ramsden.

He ran the 500 metres in one minute 50.57 seconds and then clocked 42.71 seconds for the 50m freestyle swim.

He then managed a shoot of 46 which gave him sixth place overall in the individuals and first with his Yorkshire Pentathlon Club team.

Also competing from the Dolphins were Laura Elliot-White, Katrina Stanton and Helena Walker.
