Pocklington School and Lyndhurst School trampoline teams have qualified from the Yorkshire Schools championships to advance to the regional championships to be be held in Belfast.

The two teams travelled to Hull for the latest competition at the Bonus Arena.

Due to the big freeze only 14 of the original 23 chosen to compete were able to make it.

But both teams still managed to qualify for the next round.

Both the under-11 girls’ and the U11 boys’ novice ‘A’ teams secured first places.

Josh Hall also came first in the U13 boys’ elite individual competition, while the U19 girls’ elite ‘A’ team were second.

John Chatterton was third in the U19 boys’ elite individual event.

All 14 pupils, including Kelly Chatterton from Market Weighton School, who came second in the U11 girls’s elite individual class, will represent Yorkshire in Belfast.

Mrs Jan Kilsby, Pocklington School trampoline coach, said: “A massive thank you to the parents and staff of Pocklington and Lyndhurst schools who helped to make this day as successful as it was.

“A big thank-you to the organisers, in particular Mrs J Williams, her son Mike Williams, and their team of coaches, judges and helpers.”

The successful line-ups were: U11 girls’ ‘A’ novice team: Laura Ingram, Isobel Ward and Mary Hallam; U11 boys’ novice ‘A’ team: Euan Goodbrand, Tiger Brash and Tom Bean; and the U19 girls’ elite ‘A’ team: Kayleigh Kilsby, Beth Hallam, Alix Coole-Varlow, Catherine Medley and Aimee Schofield.
