PUPILS from host school St Olave’s narrowly missed out on a home double in their annual tennis tournament.

The competition included categories for under-13 and U12 players and was contested by teams from St Olave’s, Terrington Hall, St Martin’s Ampleforth, Aysgarth, Bradford Grammar, RGS Newcastle and Trent College.

The matches were played in a doubles format and, after several closely contested games, St Olave’s claimed victory in the U13 competition against Trent College.

Trent College won the U12 tournament against St Olave’s.

Dan Busby, boys’ games teacher, said: “The tennis tournament continues to go from strength to strength following its creation last year.

“There was some great play from players of all schools and my congratulations go to Trent College and St Olave’s as winners.”
