HEWORTH booked a place in the last four of the York FA Under-11s Junior Cup with a 6-0 victory at home to Haxby Town Hawks.

Jared Garrett opened the scoring, completing a fine passing move with a close range finish.

Further first-half goals from Jack Woodhead and Taylor Bell put Heworth in control of the game and Garrett added a fourth just before the break.

Haxby competed well throughout an entertaining match, but a second goal for Woodhead made it five and Harry Tinker then completed the scoring with a good finish to round off another fine team move.

Bradley Britland netted four goals as Thorpe United beat Tadcaster Albion 9-1 in the last eight. Elliot Wright scored twice, while Ben Hudson and Sam Oldfield also got on the scoresheet to add to an own goal.

The games between Rawcliffe and Strensall Tigers Yellows, and Rawcliffe Warriors and Copmanthorpe were postponed. They are scheduled for tomorrow.

Brooklyn needed penalties to overcome Strensall Tigers in the quarter-finals of the York FA U12s Junior Cup.

Strensall went ahead from a corner but Brooklyn hit back in the second half. The Ryedale side were awarded a penalty, but Joe Boyes’ spot-kick hit a post and Oliver Tetlow went close with the rebound.

Brooklyn kept up the pressure and Lewis Saunders made a good run before laying the ball off for Ben Evans, who placed it into the net.

There were no further goals so the tie went to penalties, with both sides missing their first two attempts.

Billy Chapman made a great save from Strensall’s third kick and Boyes hammered his into the top corner for a 1-0 advantage.

Man of the match Chapman then pulled off another superb stop, and Lewis Saunders scored the winning penalty to put Brooklyn through.

Brayton cruised past York RI Cosmos 7-0 with goals from Spencer Smith (2), Dan Kemp, Tom Lally, Max Seaman, Devon Fell and an own goal.

Rufforth Gliders were beaten 3-0 at home by Dringhouses, whose scorers were Ben Heath, Oliver Bartlett and Mckenzie Halloway. The tie between York RI Galaxy and Huntington was postponed and rearranged for tomorrow.

Stamford Bridge eased past Rawcliffe Warriors 5-0 in the last eight of the York FA U16s Senior Minor Cup. Leon Ryecroft bagged two goals, while Elliot Beadle, Calum Willis and Will Cardy were also on target.

Tockwith toppled Poppleton Tigers 5-4 on penalties after their quarter-final tie ended 0-0, while Easingwold Town won 3-2 at home to Heworth.

Woodthorpe Wanderers were 5-3 winners at Bishopthorpe White Rose in the York FA U15s Intermediate (Senior) Minor Cup.

They are joined in the last four by Heworth, who beat Tockwith 5-1, and Brooklyn, 3-2 winners over Rawcliffe, while York Cubs were handed a bye as Kirkbymoorside withdrew.

Tom Free scored four goals in Huntington’s 5-2 victory at Poppleton Panthers in the York FA U14s Intermediate (Junior) Minor Cup.

Euan Surgenor was the other Huntington marksman.

Haxby Town booked their last four spot with a 3-0 home win over Woodthorpe Wanderers, a scoreline matched by Fulford as they dumped out York RI.

Brayton complete the semi-final line-up after an 8-2 home triumph over Thorpe United.

Manni DeNobriga’s four-goal haul helped Tadcaster Magnets Blues to an 11-5 win over Old Malton St Mary’s in the York FA U13s Junior Minor Cup. George Chilton also banged in four goals as his Elmpark side put out Stamford Bridge 7-1, while Jack Parkinson bagged a hat-trick in Tockwith’s 7-2 win over Rawcliffe.
